Château-la-Vallière and its surroundings...
Just 5 km from the campsite, in Vaujours (municipality of Château-la-Vallière), you can find the remains of an ancient era. Standing 3.60 metres tall, the Menhir de Vaujours (Menhir de Château-la-Vallière) is one of the most imposing megalithic monuments in the Touraine region. Known as the Menhir de Vaujours or Menhir de Château-la-Vallière, it is the second most important megalithic monument in Touraine, standing 3.60 metres tall. On the borders of Anjou, you can admire this monument from another era. On a more recent historical note, take the time to discover the ruins of the Château de Vaujours, dating from the 15th century. Learn more about the seat of the Duchy-Peerage of La Vallière during a guided tour. For vintage car enthusiasts, head there on the fourth Sunday of every month. ‘Vaujours Rétro’ is a large gathering of vintage cars, organised by the owner, which will give you an unusual way to discover the area!
Lake Val Joyeux
Just 300 metres from the campsite, this lake covers nearly 36 hectares in the heart of the Château-la-Vallière forest, on the outskirts of the village. A large sandy beach is accessible to all and also has a lifeguard station during the summer months. It is the ideal place to enjoy beautiful summer days. You can go swimming here: the lake is supervised in July and August. It is also a little corner of paradise for all fishing enthusiasts. For sports enthusiasts, enjoy a large orienteering course, a pétanque court, children’s games, a volleyball court and other activities to share with your group or family! Bring a picnic…
